Below we have outlined some useful things to know when working with TravelEssence as your preferred international agent.
Commission
As an agent, we work with commission based on your advertised rates, which is competitive with the industry standard for inbound agents in Australia and New Zealand. This covers the cost of marketing in Europe to attract new travellers to your accommodation or activity.
Rate Parity
Rate parity is where our advertised online price is in the same range as yours. This means that no matter if the client books with you, us, or another channel, they pay the same. It’s important for all that there is consistency with advertised rates.
Stay Pay Incentive
A stay pay incentive is an offer where your guest books two or three nights and receives an extra night free of charge. Offering a stay pay incentive is a fantastic way for you to extend your high season and increase your overall occupancy. The best dates for a stay pay incentive are in spring and autumn months, before and after your peak season.
Cancellation Terms
Our cancellation terms are guided by European consumer law. But don’t worry about that, we rarely ever cancel. In fact, less than 5% of our clients cancel. In the very rare circumstance that we do, the entire trip is cancelled, not just one component.
Payment Terms
Payments are made automatically and in advance from our Westpac account. You will receive an email with each payment. Accommodation partners do not need to send us an invoice - payment is completed automatically. For activity partners, we kindly ask that you provide an invoice to Helen and our accounts team based in Wellington.
International Pricing
There are some pricing differences when attracting European guests. Since the European market book their holidays far in advance, we work best with simple rates that are applicable year round. Every year we update rates to prepare for the coming season. We can offer advice about the best rates to offer.
